The 3D2N liveaboard is the most popular Komodo trip format. Here's a detailed day-by-day, hour-by-hour breakdown of what actually happens — from departure morning to final return.

A 3-day, 2-night (3D2N) liveaboard trip is the most popular way to experience Komodo National Park. This itinerary is designed to cover the main highlights efficiently, offering a balance of trekking, snorkeling, and relaxation. Here’s a typical breakdown of what you can expect on a Dara Flores Adventures 3D2N journey.

Day 1: Island Hopping & Sunset Views

  • 08:00 AM - 09:00 AM: Boarding & Departure from Labuan Bajo Harbor.
    • Guests are picked up from their hotels in Labuan Bajo and transferred to the harbor. After a welcome briefing, the phinisi sets sail.
  • 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Kelor Island.
    • Activity: Short hike to a panoramic viewpoint for stunning views of the surrounding islands. Snorkeling in the clear waters below.
    • Trek Duration: Approximately 20-30 minutes uphill.
  • 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM: Lunch on board.
    • Enjoy your first meal as the boat cruises towards the next destination.
  • 01:30 PM - 03:00 PM: Manjarite/Mesa Village (alternative).
    • Activity: Snorkeling at Manjarite, known for its vibrant soft corals and diverse fish. Alternatively, visit Mesa Village, a traditional sea gypsy village.

    • Activity: Witness thousands of fruit bats (flying foxes) emerge from the mangroves at sunset, creating a spectacular aerial display.

Day 2: Iconic Views & Dragon Encounters

  • 05:00 AM - 06:30 AM: Padar Island Sunrise Trek.
    • Activity: An early start for a challenging but rewarding hike to the summit of Padar Island. Witness the iconic tri-colored beaches at sunrise.
    • Trek Duration: Approximately 30-45 minutes uphill, depending on fitness level. Wear sturdy shoes.
  • 07:00 AM - 08:00 AM: Breakfast on board.

  • 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM: Pink Beach.

Honest Caveats

  • Itinerary Flexibility: This is a typical itinerary. Actual routes and timings may vary due to weather conditions, sea currents, park regulations, or your group's preferences on a private charter. Your captain will always prioritize safety.
  • Dragon Sightings: While highly likely, Komodo dragons are wild animals, and sightings are never 100% guaranteed.
  • Generator Power: Most phinisi boats operate generators for electricity, which may not run 24/7. Expect AC in cabins to run during specific hours (e.g., evening to morning). Plan device charging accordingly.
